The Story of ecumininet™ online!
The year was late December, 2000. My prayer before falling asleep was, “God, what is it that is my purpose? What is it that is unique to me that will require all of my gifts?” In my dreams, the woman who was at that time the Christian Educator of our church came to me and said, “Why, Janine, you know, what ‘it’ is, an ecumenical ministry network.” I got up the next morning infused with an incredible sense of purpose, energy, and passion of the Holy Spirit and began to work with what I had “heard” in the dream.

Ecumenical Ministry Network. The name needed to be shorter. EcuMiniNet! That was it. But what in the world was “it? “Later that morning, I “got it.” The revelation that came was electric! I knew a “network” of Christians that could help build an e-zine, a faith-based electronic magazine.

I “heard” God’s voice-in-the-dream, and by early 2001, ecumininet™ online! was up and running. Six weeks from dream to reality. Life focused on practical faith, now in our eighth year of Christian web publishing. The gift in the dream for our future together-in-Christ.

Our Common Heritage
Jesus sat in the boat and taught the crowd. When he finished speaking, he said to Simon, ‘Push the boat out further to the deep water, and you and your partners let down your nets for a catch.’

‘Master’ Simon answered, “We worked hard all night long and caught nothing. Ecumininet™ online! (ek U mini Net, - Ecumenical* Ministry Network) is a free ezine for Christian adults. Our six issues a year highlight our faith experiences, journeys and expression while honoring our different backgrounds and traditions. Through interviews, articles, poetry, art, and photography, our contributors take us into the wondering aspects of our nature. Capturing scenes and stories-from-our-hearts that refresh yet refuel us for new energy as Christian disciples rooted in our love for Christ.

(*”Ecumenical" can be defined as Christians who seek unity although they may serve and worship in different Christian faith traditions. This means that as a body of believers these Christians seek togetherness in working toward the furthering of the ministry and mission of Jesus Christ, globally.)

Our Purpose Is: Seeking, Sharing, and Shaping Faith and Life Connections.

How?

By connecting faith and life experience and valuing practical-yet-creative expressions that unify Christians and inter-faith relationships in a positive way.
By keeping our priorities focused on God/Christ/Holy Spirit, the Holy Bible, and the love that Christ teaches.

Why?

To build a stronger ecumenical Christian community (“net”) to prepare us and our children for a different future.
To build a unique “boat.” The Holy Spirit/ship will take us wherever we need to travel and provide the “catch” as we seek our purpose, together.
